On top of his achievements as a global human resource professional, this Filipino Muslim is widely recognized, respected and well-loved as a compassionate leader.

Roy Tamano had served as a president for two consecutive years and presently, as an adviser of the Maranao Community in UAE. He is one of the advisers of the Mindanao State University Alumni Association in UAE.

He had the chance to improve life better when he stepped on the desert of gold. At home, Roy became a self-made man that made millions at the age of 25. “I started in the middleman class until getting a small shop in exhibit area in Robinsons’ Place in the Philippines. I did selling of imported foot wears. I attributed my success then to selling through all the years, during my college years. I was a student activist and exposed in youth-oriented groups and community-based services.”

He received various awards and citations as an active student and youth leader. He was one of Philippine delegates known as Young Ambassadors of Goodwill to the Ship for Southeast Asian Youth Program (SSEAYP) sponsored by the Japanese Government in 1996 and visited the following countries: Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, Vietnam, Hong Kong and Japan.

But for Roy, everything has its own limit and bad luck often comes unexpectedly. “After 8 years of living a good life in Manila, fate intervened that lead me to this place. I believe a new chapter is being written here and the rest will be history.”
