Like most Filipino families of her generation, her parents had wanted her to become a doctor or lawyer, a cliché to her opinion.  “My profession is a personal decision, a destiny even.”

A graduate of Fine Arts major in Advertising at the University of Sto. Tomas, Marianne Y. Silloriquez remembers telling herself when she was young, “I want to have the kind of work where all I’m doing is shopping.” Here she is … shopping for a living, a literal job description which she herself thought for having been into the retail fashion buying.

As Brand Manager since 2007 at Mohammed Abduljawad Trading Establishment, she takes care of the company’s shoes brand. “I am responsible for buying and planning the collection, inventory management, sale forecasting and making sure the brand generate sale.  On top of these, I also head the company’s marketing division.
