Myrna F. Avillanoza, Nursing Supervisor, Al Zahra Hospital (Pvt.)Sharjah
After being told that someone collapsed at the St. Michael’s Church in Sharjah, Myrna Fernandez Avillanoza, left her fellow choir members and ran to the rescue.
Myrna, 69, laughed at the thought of this incident. In fact, similar cases happened in the past in all her three decades as a nursing professional. Yet, she is serious and says, it is her sacred duty to save lives.
She holds the distinction as one of the pioneering nurses in the United Arab Emirates and for 35 long years, has dedicated her life in the service of the Emiratis and expatriates in this desert of gold. Needless to say, she is the longest serving Pinay nurse in Al Zaara Hospital. She has served for a total of 31 years.
Today, the Filipino Community in UAE considers her as one of the Filipino Achievers and Trailblazers in the Emirates because of her noteworthy achievements.
