Rising star at Atlantis the Palm

Mary Joyce Dela Cruz Bello has been in Dubai for two years now. Her first work was a Lobby Host then she was promoted to Concierge Shift Leader.

She was formerly a Concierge Agent which allowed her to assist guests by booking tours, making theatre and restaurant reservations.

Atlantis the Palm is a massive hotel to work for and Ehmjhay, as she is fondly called, is excited every time she assists high-profile guests. This makes her job even more challenging and though she’s barely new, she was able to surpass the challenges and continue to amaze her colleagues with her passion for professional excellence and dedication to work.

To her compatriots, this native of San Jose Del Monte City in Bulacan, said: “You should know who you are and know who you are capable of becoming. In this country, you can’t count on anyone except you. You should never forget where you come from. No matter how successful you are if you are arrogant, it’s nothing. You will still have a miserable life.”

We’ve got to believe her for after all, she had been on the limelight. In the Philippines, she was

  • Top 10 Finalist in Philippine’s Nationwide VOIREX Competition – Center For Pop Music Philippines (2009)
  • Miss Tourism Ambassadress candidate (Final 15) – University Santo Tomas, Manila  (2010)
  • Miss Tourism Philippines candidate (Top 8) – Philippines Travel Agency and Association (2010)
  • Miss Silka – 1st Runner Up, Bulacan – Mulanay Experiential Inc. (2012)

“In terms of work, I put my heart in everything that I do at work because I want people to feel that I am not just doing my job but I am passionate about it.”

Elmjay is on her way towards reaching her dreams. She admits she has a lot of things to go through and lots of challenges to face along the way but she’s confident. “I’ll make it a point to face it with a smile on my face,” she stressed.
