From journalism to healthcare quality and risk management, Filipino achiever Dan Lester S. Dabon has travelled far and wide to reach his dream. At a young age of 25, he was named as a Quality and Risk Manager at Nova IVI Fertility Clinic- Middle East based in Abu Dhabi.
Among the many laurels on his head, he holds the distinction as the only Filipino to be working with a top-notched IVF team from Brussels, Belgium, headed by the renowned IVF doctor and a professor himself, Human Fatemi in setting-up an IVF clinic in the Middle East.
In his current post, Dan Lester mainly conducts analysis through Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to understand and scrutinize clinical risks and provide informed data and feedback to correct systems and processes and ensure best use of resources in the delivery of clinical care.
Nova IVI Fertility is a 100% subsidiary of Nova Medical Centers in India and has partnered with IVI, Spain, to introduce the most sophisticated Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) in Middle East.
“I am thrilled when I am challenged. Setting up a clinic with zero percent knowledge in an IVF specialty is something that I always look forward to.”
In the Philippines, he worked with GMA 7 as a regular local TV host in Davao City for almost three years. “I was exposed to different types of publicity and socialized with people from various walks of life. I handled it simply through learning not to care.”
But his glamorous life took a different twist when he decided to seek greener pasture. He has been overseas for more than two years now.
