“We are taller than we think we are. Our noses should be higher because we are one of the best in the work force, if not the best. We deserve to become bosses and entrepreneurs.”

These are the exact words coming from Iman Mary Rose Suguitan, one of the admired, successful business leaders in UAE today.

“I don’t think I’m successful yet by my own standards. But I’ve been blessed with the capacity to express myself in such a way that people are moved to action when I talk to them.”

Iman, 35, is “clock builder” of AHSANT. Since 2009, she architects and cultivates the long-term strategic and financial plan to be the leading partner of luxury hotels globally in creating innovative and unforgettable guest experiences through uniquely-designed products.

The goal is to increase profitability every year, and to create effective brands that are pegged on the spirit of the luxury hotel industry; exclusive, beautiful and durable products delivered at 5-star customer service. In the long-term, the plan is to let these B2B brands mature, so as to create sufficient brand equity to appeal to retail customers (B2C).

Ahsant’s vision is to be the leading partner of luxury and upper upscale hotels globally in creating innovative and unforgettable guest experiences through efficient delivery of evocative and uniquely designed products.

“Our clients are life-long partners with whom we can share our passion for creativity and sustainability. Our employees are the best in the business; they know how to dream BIG, and we give them the opportunity to realize those dreams.”

In its first year of operation in 2010, AHSANT was able to close major projects with EMAAR Hospitality Group (The Address Hotels + Resorts) and other 5-star hotels in UAE. Last year, noted was an increase in annual sales by 20% (approximately AED 1.2 million) and 100% increase in new clients including Maldives and Seychelles.

Iman is in negotiations to grow the Jacinto and Lirio brand in the UAE. It’s a Green Initiative as well as a Social Enterprise that seeks to promote the Filipino ingenuity – the invasive water lily has been transformed into the first statement plant leather in the world. The Nypa brand of which she’s the brand director and owner is all about pushing beautiful Filipino products from indigenous materials.

In the Philippines, she worked as Customer Relations and Planning Officer at the Fingers and Palm Therapeutic Center, a family-owned business based in Makati City.

She was also into the job of Membership Consultant. In 2006, she joined as Multi-Brand Sales and Marketing Coordinator in Dubai of The Nautilus Academy (NAU) Body Butlers (BB). In 2007, as Branch Sales Manager of Fitness First in Dubai, she managed a 9-member team to generate AED 700,000 income from new and renewing memberships for a period of 30 days. She was Head of PR and Marketing of Ataya Enterprises LLC, Dubai which managed the following brands: Oilily, FACE Stockholm and Aerosoles.

Iman is a holder of Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy (2001) from the University of the Philippines. In 2006, she earned a Certificate in Business Idea Generation and Business Plan Development from the University of Dubai and Citigroup Scholarships. Her submitted business plan ranked top 10 out of 22 scholarships by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce. In 2008, she finished her Professional Diploma at the Chartered Institute of Marketing UK (CIM).

A multi-awarded speaker, she is a Vice President for Education of Oasis Achievers Toastmasters Club and holds the title as Competent Communicator and Competent Leader. Inspiring her countrymen remains on top of Iman’s list. No doubt, she will continue to shine.
