Henrietta M. Nacario, Nurse Supervisor & Head, Surgical Step Down Unit, Al Ain Cromwell Hospital, Abu Dhabi
This Pinay nurse made headlines when in September 2004, she managed and escorted a heat stroke Pole National to his home country. She was again the talk of Pinoy health community in UAE when she handled the first successful Siamese twins operation case in Al Mafraq Hospital where she was then employed as a staff nurse at the Intensive Care Unit.
Henrietta M. Nacario, 41, is one proud Pinay nurse in UAE whose dedication and commitment to her profession has been acknowledged by health authorities.
She is a dedicated nurse intensivist with almost 9 years of expertise in managing critically ill patients. She has been recognized time and again for her experience and knowledge in hemo-peritoneal dialysis likewise flexible and competent in handling medical –surgical cases both pediatrics and adults.
Nacario, who is presently the Nurse Supervisor at Al Ain Cromwell Hospital in Abu Dhabi, was named to this post in 2010. Aside from being a pioneer staff, she was also named the Head of the Surgical Stepdwon Unit (SSDU).
Al Ain Cromwell Hospital is a specialized hospital for women and children with 50 beds and supporting facilities which provides a wide range of general and specialist clinical services including obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics and neonatology, internal medicine, surgery, cosmetics and dermatology, dental care, and urgent care services. It is the first hospital in Abu Dhabi to offer waterbirth facilities.
The hospital’s employees are a highly qualified team from different nationalities who combine to deliver high quality standards of healthcare to our patients. This is a challenge for a supervisor like Henny and so, she is actively involved in Nursing Education and in developing Hospital policies to maintain quality nursing care. Among her achievements is the conceptualization and development and the eventual conduct of the mentorship and medication program at the hospital.
Prior to her present appointment, she was connected for seven years, from 2002 to 2007, with the Al Mafraq Hospital. She has also worked as Charge Nurse for 3 years and preceptored new staff nurses from 2005-2007. She was also a Quality Link Nurse for Al Mafraq Hospital’s Main ICU Dept. from June 2005-Dec. 2007.
She earned her degree in Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the St. Michael’s College of Laguna in Binan, Laguna in 1993. On the same year, she passed the Nursing Licensure Examinations given by the Professional Regulation Commission.
In 2002, she passed the MOH exam given in Abu Dhabi and in 2010, she got her HAAD license. Also, a US registered nurse, she was given license by the Board of Nursing of State of Vermont.
She was born in 1972 in Gamu, Isabela to spouses Felix and Estelita Nacario.
