Adonis Villamor Tividad
Photography is something you get immersed in. “I lose all my worries. I lose myself in shooting,” said Adonis Villamor Tividad when asked why he likes to be a photographer. His worries and daily stresses melt away with every photo. “Every time I hold my camera, it excites my whole being. There is joy in the thought that I have accomplished something that I can share.”
Adonis left his post as head of the Information Technology Department at the Pacific Sun Solutions in Manila in 2005 and went to Dubai to join the Bin Saif Group as Software Development Manager, a position he held until 2008. He is presently a Software Development Team Leader of KITO Enterprises in Sharjah.
He started photography just for the main purpose of capturing his son’s growing years. But in time, he noticed that he also started capturing wonderful creations like the moon, the setting and the rising of the sun, trees, flowers even insects and mountains. He proudly shared it with his friends.
As an artist, he is inspired by three things. On top of his list is his wife “who always support, motivates and stands with me in every even and odds of my life.” Then comes his son, Auric Gavin, who “teaches me on every small step forward, eventually big things occur.”
Born in Navotas, Rizal this 40-year old artist is married to the former Geraldine Cordova, a banker who is also based in UAE. “First, I wanted to capture a memory that I can have forever. In the case of my only son and only child whom my wife and I were blessed after eight long years, to capture the memories of Auric’s growing years through photography. Every smile, every tear, every laughter, at play or asleep, all these and more are moments that will pass but will forever be retained.”
He has many dreams but what makes him apart from other dreamers is he dreams not only for himself and his family. “We also dream of establishing a charitable foundation hoping that this dream will also become a realization. This is our way of giving back to the society for the blessings bestowed upon us through photography.”
If he’s not in photography today, he would just be the same person he wanted to be. “I have chosen to be in the field of software development and system analysis,” said Adonis who holds a degree in Bachelor in Computer Science from the Technological University of the Philippines. “I dream of having some innovations that I can leave behind … a legacy to the next generation I wish not to be stagnant in this profession. I have to do have something which I can humbly share in the field of information technology.”
One thing is for sure. He will never get tired of fulfilling his mission in life: to motivate and innovate; pursuit and contribute the passion within; to standout without doubt and remain humble.
