Ruben Santos showcases designs in UAE

A popular Filipino designer, Ruben Santos continues to amaze the fashion world with his original creations making him one of the well-loved, highly-respected achiever today.

On ordinary days, Ruben designs ready to wear and custom made dresses for J’ Adore Couture in Abu Dhabi.

 

When he was young, he designed dioramas and created miniature dresses. He then studied at the  Fashion and Arts School in Manila. “I was inspired by Hollywood stars and beauty queens.”

In the 1980s, he had the chance to collaborate with Mike dela Rosa as an Assistant Designer. His charisma spread after successful fashion shows in the capital city of Manila. He joined competitions.

Young, vibrant and full of enthusiasm, he left for Saudi Arabia where for half a decade, he immersed himself in the kingdom of royalties.

He transferred to Abu Dhabi. There, he successfully launched the Queen Palace Haute Couture. The launch made an indelible imprint that Ruben himself is amazed until today how he was able to have created amazing designs for the royal families, socialites and diplomats not only in UAE but in Middle East. His wings spread across the nooks and corners of the emirates.

At the Anyo 2000 Mini Fashion Show to celebrate Philippine Independence Day, he was awarded as Designer of the Year.

Awards and countless recognitions did not stop this designer from making steps – looking for possibilities where he can truly explore and showcase his God-given gift.

In 2011, he did showcase his creations at the Philippine Fashion Week.

And when the time comes, he plans to go home and establish his own atelier.
