Renante O. Cayon: Dreaming Beyond Yacht

Renante Cayon

Renante O. Cayon is an architect by profession and at the same time a freelance photographer based in the capital of Abu Dhabi.

He has been into architectural interior design and technical for 14 years spending 8 years in the United Arab Emirates.

Humble beginnings

He was born in Lagundi, Oslob town in Cebu in 1977. He took a degree in Bachelor of Science in Architecture and after passing the licensure examination, he was admitted as member of the United Architects Associations of the Philippines (UAAP).

In his home province of Cebu, he worked with Raphael Legacy Designs, Inc. as Autocad Operator, a post he held from 2000 to 2002. He was promoted to Product Research and Development Supervisor in 2003. A year after, he was named Quality Control Supervisor, the last position he took before leaving in 2006.

“Most people think that I am a serious person but in fact I am with my craft but for those who know me, I am just a regular guy who love to crack a joke to anyone and laugh with.”

Rise to the top

With his growing list of experiences, he decided to go abroad. By this time, he had been an Architectural Interior Designer, Autocad Draftsman Joinery Detailer, Cutting list, Site Supervisor, Product Research Supervisor and Quality Control Supervisor.

From 2006 to 2007, he was Auto Cad Draftsman and Junior Designer at Green Line Yatch Interiors in Sharjah. In September 2007, he moved to Jebel Ali Free Zone in Dubai and worked as Architect and Interior Designer for Fino International.

In 2008, he transferred to Najdah, Abu Dhabi as Architect and Interior Designer of Avenue Design Interior (Masaood Group) where he worked until December 2010. From 2010 to 2012, he was Architect of Seidco General Contracting Company. One of their projects was the Fairmont Hotel in Ajman.

In March 2012, he moved to Green Line Yatch Interior LLC in Jebel Ali as Architect and Cad Designer. He was involved in the designs of dhow, Pirini Yacht and Chuggaboom Yacht.

In August 2013, he was hired by Stickman Interior Design in TECOM Area in Dubai as Architect and Cad Designer. He is involved in the company projects for Fairmont Hotel, Anantara Hotel and Shangri La, among others.

Know the client

Outside of his regular work, he has a passion for photography. He is into portrait, glamour, fashion, wedding, landscape, architecture, and street and photo journalism. He loves to shoot people and he is deeply engaged in fashion, portrait, weddings, events and boudoir. He uses Nikon because this gives him the opportunity to explore his talent.

He has been a photographer for not so long but along his adventures and misfortunes, he has learned to face life with indomitable courage. He would always keep on reminding those who aspire to improve their craft to be at their best but never forget this lesson. “As a photographer, you should know first the client before you gave your trust to them.”

He adds, “show passion in whatever you do and dedicate time and effort in order for you to master your craft and be an inspiration to other.”  But on top of everything, one must “enjoy what you are doing and be passionate about it.”

He had been on the road taking anyone else for a ride to serve those in need. “I fully support shoot for a cause being organized by my group, the Shootercada Photographers Circle in AUH. We offer free basic course in photography.” As a matter of fact, he teaches post processing.

In every challenge that he encounters, he looks up to Manny Librodo and Joe Mcnally for inspiration. “I’m still the same person as before that keeps on exploring and discovering new things in life can offer as an artist and as a person.” He’s only 38 years old and full of enthusiasm.
